ABOUT
Anita is a brackish kind of person.
They grew up in a Texas suburb between the City of Houston and the Galveston beaches — and that feeling of having their hands in many things at once has been there their whole life.
As a child, they shared stories aloud to their Mom from the backseat of her red minivan. As a middle-schooler, they sent chapters to friends like weekly episodes. And as a teen, they saw the magic of their words materialize on stage.
Parrott is a member of Columbia School of the Arts MFA Acting Program (Cohort ’26), where their brackish roots continue to grow.
In their writing, Parrott is interested in creating black stories that reflect the world they’d like to live in and broaden the theatrical canon.
Artistic Goal: To take up the mantle and defend whimsy everywhere and with everything they’ve got.
